2004 Track & Field:
White had a fantastic final season for UCSB in the distance events, winning the Big West 5,000m crown, the Big West Challenge Cup 3,000m in a meet record time 8:21.82 and ultimately qualifying for the NCAA National Championship in the 10,000m with a personal best 29:10.23 (#2 All-time) ...finished 21st in the NCAA 10k final.

2003 XC Recap:
White was named Team Co-Captain for the 2003 season...Chris was the top Gaucho finisher at the UCSB Lagoon Open, finishing 5th in 24:59...a leader all season long, he was the team's #2 man at Riverside, Notre Dame, and Pre-Nationals.  White unfortunately missed the Big West meet due to food poisoning, but rallied to finish 44th at the West Regional in his final cross country race as a Gaucho.

2003 Track Recap:
Had a terrific finish at the Conference Championships taking 3rd and earning his first All-Conference honors in the 5,000m event.

2002 Track Recap:
Continued to improve through his sophomore year with a strong showing at the Conference Championships where he took 8th in the 1500 with personal best of 3:55.05 and doubled back for personal best in the 5k as well en route to taking 6th.

2001 XC Recap:
The youngest member of the team's illustrious top-7 squad. Played a key roll in the team's success en route to qualifying for the NCAA Championships by placing 34th as the team's 4th finisher at the Western Regional Meet.

2001 Track Recap:
Produced a very impressive true-freshman season, punctuated by scoring in the Conference 1500m race with an 8th place finish. Logged the fastest Gaucho freshman 1500m time since 1988 of 3:57.19, complimented by a fine 5,000m time of 15:02.48.

2000 XC Recap:
Contributed to the Gauchos' second-place team effort at the 2000 Stanford Invitational as the team's 7th finisher as a true freshman... Set an 8k personal best of 25:37 over the CS Fullerton course... Walked on to the program.

The pair of dads were teammates during the early 1960's in Raleigh, North Carolina, where they each were regarded as one of the top runners in the state in the half mile event. Chris and Steve were teammates for two years.
