2004 Track & Field:
Gardina
ran the third best 10k in UCSB history, clocking a 29:19.32 at the Stanford
Invitational...finished an All-Conference 3rd place in the 10k at the Big
West Championship...missed qualifying for the NCAA National Championship by
just one place on the '04 performance list...ran a lifetime best 14:24.80
for 5,000m at the Ben Brown Invitational.
2003 XC Recap:
Jeff qualified for the NCAA National
Championship as an individual on the strength of his amazing 11th place
finish at the West Regional Championship in Portland...went on to finish
114th at the NCAA meet in Waterloo. Gardina earned All-Conference
honors with a 4th place finish at the Big West meet...won the Riverside Inv
in 24:23 and finished 9th at the prestigious Notre Dame Inv. Gardina
was the top UCSB finisher in 6 of his 7 meets in 2003.
2003 Track Recap:
Continued to make strides towards the upper levels of running. Won several races
including his heat at Stanford Invite clocking a season best of 14:37.
2002 XC Recap:
Stepped up as a solid contributor for the
Gauchos, placing as the team's top 5 finishers in all major races. Took
55th at the NCAA regional meet covering the 10k course in 32:25, and 95th
at the Pre-NCAA meet with an 8k time of 25:23.

Coach's notes:
As
a freshman in 2000, led the "UCSB B-Team" at the Cal Poly SLO Invite, and
ran an 8k Personal best of 25:54 at the CS Fullerton Invitational as a true
freshman. Walked on to the team with little high school running experience.
